Alfred Foster Jones' Headcanons
Alfred's voice and accent:
Alfreds got a thick ‘country’ accent, as he has lived in the country all his life. Sometimes it’s stronger than others, when he really gets ranting or singing, it comes out thick, though when he’s talking slow, it’s a little more subtle.
What he eats:
Most of what Alfred eats is made on his farm or bought from the local market from other farmers he knows. He doesn’t like eating things that were produced in a factory, he finds it disgusting, and would much rather have something organic and home made than something processed.
So, he gets his eggs from his chickens, beef from the cows he raises (though he only has it on occasion since he doesn’t like killing them too often. Only once a month, but, it’s the best steak he’s ever had, that’s for sure.), he gets bread from the market and milk from the cows he raises. He just likes to know what he’s putting in his body, he likes to know just where something came from and that it’s real and healthy. He can’t risk his health, he’s got work to do, afterall.
Drinking:
Alfred sometimes has a drinking problem when he is stressed. He is a casual drinker, having a beer or two a night or something while he’s relaxing, it takes the edge off, but he rarely gets drunk.
There are two ways he can go when he gets drunk, and it all depends on his mood. He can either be happy, dizzy, loud and playful. Or, he could be angry, bitter and explosive.
The second is rare, but it does happen, and when it does it’s better to stay away from him because he tends to get aggressive.
Music:
Alfred is a lover of music, mostly country, of course, since those songs tell a story, can make you laugh and so on. He only plays two instruments, a guitar, and piano. He will play the guitar every night to sing the sun to sleep as he puts it, and right in the morning, he'll play the piano to wake it back up.
Music makes him happy, it's one of the things that keeps his hands busy and a smile on his face the whole time.
It gets a little lonely and quiet around the ranch, afterall.. He needs some noise other than the sound of horses to keep him company
Technology:
Alfred isn’t good with technology other than TV.
He doesn’t really know much about cellphones, but he’s got an old one just for calls, but he doesn’t know how to text or how to use the internet. So, he tends to stay away from that.
He would rather just call, say what he needs to say and get the person to come over in person, that way they can talk more or hang out.
Alfred is a hard worker:
Alfred is a hard working guy. You won’t see him without dirt under his nails or on his clothes unless you happen to catch him just coming out of the shower. He thinks that getting a little dirty is just the sign of a job well done and a hard worker, so he doesn’t mind having a bit of dirt here and there.
He also smells like must, hay, horse crap and dirt. Most don’t like it, since he smells like a farm, but he doesn’t smell it anymore and well, some people who like that kind of life don’t seem to really mind it much either
Relationships:
He doesn’t have many friends, so that’s what he thinks of first. It takes him a long while to become attracted to anyone in any way other than just friendship.
It has been mistaken that he was flirting when in reality, he was just being polite. Manners are so scarce that when men or women get them, well, they assume he’s being nice for some other intentions other than just for the sake of being a good guy. The whole cowboy thing people seem to like doesn’t help his case either, and he gets confused pretty quickly if you come on to him right when he meets you.
It usually puts him off if you’re just coming to him to talk because you want sex. Hell, he can’t even call it that, it’s ‘making love’, and, he will only do that with someone that he loves. He feels used otherwise. Used for someones cowboy fetish.
Either way, he would rather have a lot of friends rather than a relationship. If it just so happens that he falls for you, expect a very loyal, passionate lover. He will do anything to make you happy, go out of his way to make sure you have everything you need and treat you like royalty.
However, if that trust is broken, well, it’s very hard to earn it once again.
The things that Alfred really looks for in a relationship isn’t anything that you can see right away with a person. You may get hints, but you can never break down that wall that everyone has and keeps to keep themselves safe from those that don’t know them that well.
Before he even gets into a relationship, he wants to break down that wall, and, in turn, have that person get through the one that he puts up as well. It gives them a strong connection, someone to turn to when they need help, and makes them both comfortable with each other, something that Alfred really needs.
He doesn’t have a set amount of things he looks for appearance wise, because that’s all just all on the outside, it will fade.
What he likes is someone who is comfortable with who they are, someone who is sweet and nurturing, caring and compassionate. Someone that he can talk to without fear or worry that he will be judged or otherwise used with whatever personal information he gives out.
That’s why he doesn’t like sharing about his life to people he doesn’t know or people he does know.
He was bullied in school, of course he won’t trust someone right away with his secrets and feelings. He just feels like he will be laughed at and that it will be spread around.
So, he needs someone there for him. Someone he knows that just by looking into their eyes, they are there for him no matter what.
He wants to have someone he can talk to openly with about anything, someone to love and care for, someone he can protect and hold in his arms, and, when the day ends, someone that will sleep together with him, snuggled up under the sheets and not mind if he absently strokes her hair and takes in the most intimate details of her face.
He needs a partner. One who knows who they are, what they want, and, most of all, knows that they love him and he loves them back. No jealousy, no anger, no fear. Only love, stability, safety and trust.
Sex:
When Alfred is comfortable enough with you to actually get intimate with you, he takes it very slow. And no, that doesn’t mean just a few hours and then sex happens, that means, a few make out sessions first, no sex involved with that. (he doesn’t mind giving oral at this point, however, it still wouldn’t happen the first time)
He wants to get to know you, slowly. Get to know what you like, your body, every little dimple, birthmark, mole, hair.. Everything. He wants to kiss you everywhere, from your toes to the top of your head. He wants to get to know what you like and dislike, what you’re comfortable with and not, how far is too far..
Once he is able to laugh at little mistakes with you, then you know he’s comfortable with you. That’s usually the sign that he looks for.
Say, someones stomach growls really loudly into a kiss. If the both of them can laugh— not awkwardly— about it, then he feels that you’re comfortable enough with eachother to go all the way.
He doesn’t like to rush and he wants to make it special, it’s not as important to someone who has already lost their virginity, however, if they haven’t, he wants to make sure he does it right and make sure they love him. He doesn’t want it to be a mistake for either of them.
